Gemma - Managing Director
Hi, I’m Gemma, the founder/owner and Managing Director of Mini wAVe Experience. You have hopefully read the 'about me' section which delves into my personal life and reason for starting this business. In my professional career, I have worked with children since the age of 14, and have been a teacher for over 14 years in varying roles (some senior) and have been fortunate enough to teach every year group, therefore have a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum. My passion is Early Years Education, and I have spent many years in this area and built the business around my extensive knowledge and expertise. My creative side also allowed me to come up with new and exciting classes for the community and in Schools and Nurseries! Most recently, I have enjoyed teaching all of the Primary Range through school and at home tutoring. For this, I use the National Curriculum to plan but use my expertise in order to create innovative and exciting way of learning! My personal teaching philosophy is that all children can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. They learn best through discovery and exploration and their own experiences; effective learning requires collaboration between the teacher, children and parents which is grounded by mutual respect and trust, and this is embedded into all of our classes here at Mini wAVe Experience. When you come to our community classes, know you are welcomed, supported and accepted. You will see me Mondays at Beechen hall leading music, yoga and massage classes, running some of nursery sessions, Thursday at Nature School and Fridays at Bexley playgroup, as well as overseeing the other community and in school/nursery classes we have. I also tutor in Medway from preschool to age 11.

Sara - Class Leader (Bexley areas)
Please welcome Sara (PRONOUNCED SARAH) to our team! What an asset Sara is. She is warm hearted, kind and so enthusiastic. Sara now runs multiple nursery classes ranging from music and movement to yoga! Sara also runs our Intergenerational class specials at Park View. She covers Bexley playgroup from time to time too! Here is a little more information about Sara in her own words.
Hi I’m Sara, some of you may have seen me at Gemma’s classes and playgroups over the years. I have been incredibly blessed to be a stay at home mum and raise my 2 beautiful girls. Pre children, I was fortunate to work with many different children over the years from primary school age to children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, so when the opportunity came up to run some classes for Mini wAVe, it was the perfect fit.
I truly believe if we could all see the world through the eyes of a child, we would see the magic in everything. I’m so excited to run some sessions and bring the magic with fun, bubbles, mess and music to all of my sessions.
I look forward to meeting everyone who attends my sessions!
Rachael - Class Leader (Bexley areas)
This is Rachael! Rachael has extensive experience teaching children. She is a swimming teacher, Sports coach in Primary Schools and runs many of our sessions in Nurseries within the Bexley area and leads some classes in the area too. She's even a Personal Trainer! What can't she do?! Rachael has been working with us for over a year now. She runs many of the Nursery sessions in the South East London area and is a big hit with staff and children alike! Rachael is so talented and trusted. She does her job and she does it fantastically. She is a real blessing to the team. Here is some more information about Rachael in her own words.
Hi I am Rachael, up till now I have mostly worked with older children I have been a swimming teacher for 19 years, then I qualified as a football coach and ran a boys team for 3 years - that’s when I started working for Gemma’s husband delivering sports sessions in primary & secondary schools. I’m also a personal trainer and run lots for family fitness sessions so I love being active and working with families and children so when the opportunity came up to join the mini wave experience team it sounded like my cup of tea!
I’m really enjoying dancing, singing and jumping about with your children; they are all such interesting little characters! It’s been great getting to know them in the wiggle & jiggle sessions and story make and shake! I also love teaching classes at the care home-it’s just a cuteness overload with the residents and the children who are all really friendly.
Adding the Mini wAVe Experience job to my existing work has meant I no longer need to work weekends and get to spend more time with my own family and 4 children ranging from a toddler to a teenager.
Some other important faces you may see around our classes
Rob - my husband and also Director/founder of sister company wAVe Coaching. Rob is sometimes at playgroup supporting or going round swapping resources for me!
